About Our Domain Name Registration Service

Tiger Technologies is an ICANN accredited registrar. Our "domain name only" service gives you an affordable way to get your own Internet address, even if we don't host your Web site.

Remember that this page is only intended for people who don't want to use our Web hosting service. You might use this page to order a parked domain name, for example, or a domain name alias. Or you might want to transfer an existing domain name to our company (which renews it for a year).

Prices

1 year: $20.00
2 years: 39.00
3 years: 57.00
5 years: 95.00
10 years: 175.00

What Does It Cost?

The price depends on how long you register the domain name. You save money by registering for longer periods.

All prices are in US dollars and include the ICANN fee and free WHOIS privacy. Don't be fooled when you compare prices — we show you all the costs up front, but our biggest competitor charges an extra $9.19 a year for those two fees!

How long does it take before my domain name starts working?

It usually takes less than an hour from the time you submit the application, although in rare cases it may take as long as 48 hours. (The exact time depends on the domain name registry and other factors not under our control.)

What information do I need to register a domain name?

If you're hosting it elsewhere, you'll need to know the names of two "DNS nameservers" for your domain. These usually look like "ns1.example.com" and "ns2.example.com". The company or person hosting your Web site can tell you this information.

If you're just parking the domain name for later use, you don't need to know any technical information.

I haven't yet decided where to host my Web site, so I don't know the nameserver addresses. Can I register (or "park") the domain name anyway, just to get started?

Yes, you can register the domain name and update the nameservers later. We'll "park" the domain name, meaning we'll register it for you and put up a Web page telling people you've registered it. This makes sure the domain name can't be taken by anyone else.

We don't charge any extra fee for parking domain names in this manner, and we don't show ads on your parked pages. (Many domain name companies show ads based on the domain name on parked pages, which may include ads for your competition. We don't do that.)

Of course, you won't be able to change the appearance of your Web site, and people won't be able to send you e-mail at your new domain name, until you login and enter the DNS nameserver information from your Web hosting company.

Can you do URL forwarding?

We can forward your domain to another Web site at no extra charge (for example, if your domain is "example.com" and someone types "www.example.com" in a Web browser, we can redirect that to something like "http://wordpress.com/example"). Just contact us and we'll set it up right away.

URL forwarding does not forward e-mail for the domain. If you want to receive e-mail as well, we recommend our Web hosting plan, which includes a free domain name and full support for e-mail addressses.
